A clinical review of inpatient bed accommodation and ward facilities was provided to support services to patients including elderly medicine, stroke and rehabilitation across 3 phases of the Kirkaldy Hospital site for Graham Construction. The review established opportunities for the movement of patients from a 1967 ward to a newly completed PFI building where rooms and wards were not being optimised.
The completion of Monaghans review allowed for the initialisation of a study to establish if a refurbishment and expansion programme for the theatre provisions within the hospital could be completed.
