An opportunity exists for an experienced Building Control professional from an Approved Inspector or Local Authority Building Control background to join our Sheffield office to work as a Building Regulations Consultant in the Commercial, Residential, Leisure and Retail sectors throughout England & Wales.
The role is to help us implement the new duty holder roles created under the Building Safety Act 2022 and The Building Regulations etc. (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2023.
Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in Building Control compliance delivery and knowledge of the Approved Documents for a diverse range of instructions, alongside excellent communication skills:
Provide Principal Designer (Building Regulations) services to our clients.
Strong people management and leadership skills are an advantage to chair online and in person workshops with designers, to help them comply with their new duty holder roles.
The candidate will also be responsible for delivering training for other team members to train them in building regulation compliance and management.
A great team and work ethic are essential.
A detailed and in-depth understanding of Building Regulations including Fire Safety is required, together with desktop technical auditing, plans checking and compliance management.
Management support for training and development of others to carry out building regulations compliance checks and management.
Provide Building Safety Act consultancy advice and Client advisor services to clients to help them comply with their duties.
Candidates should be MRICS or MCABE or CIOB (Level 4 Diploma in Building Control Surveying) qualified. Candidates who are qualified as Registered Building Inspectors (RBCI) Class 1, 2A to F, 3G & H and 4 will be considered but this is not essential as the candidates will be working as Principal Designer (Building Regulations).
