Bienvenue a Primark Toulouse!

17th October 2018

Monaghans is delighted to have delivered the magnificent Primark Toulouse flagship store.

Toulouse, La Ville Rose (the Pink City), is well known for its unique architecture and Primark Toulouse is now open within one of its most iconic buildings. The completion of the spectacular store sees Toulouse challenge the Primark Madrid Gran Via store as Primark’s most beautiful building, a masterpiece of architecture!

Originally opened as a retail store in 1904 as ‘Les Dames de France’, Primark Toulouse’s building has a very long history, including being used as a prison during the French Revolution. Protected by the ABF Heritage Architect, several architectural and decorative parts of the building had to be maintained. The store includes the original glass dome which looks incredible with natural daylight shining through to the 30-metre-high atrium in the centre of the store. The main facades of the building and feature ceremonial staircase have also been kept and restored as part of the project.

The demolition, structural and refurbishment works have taken 2 years to complete with many challenges faced along the way, but the spectacular Primark Toulouse is now open as Primark’s largest store in France with 82,000 sq ft of retail space across four sales floors and employing around 300 staff. Toulouse is the 14th Primark to open in France and the 362nd Primark store to open globally.
