Healthcare Estates 2017

Monaghans’ Liz Smith is once again looking forward to representing the Trebbi Healthcare team at the prestigious Healthcare Estates Conference taking place on 10-11th October at Manchester Central. Liz will be speaking together with long term American colleague Jon Huddy, President of Huddy Healthcare, author of Emergency Department Design: A Practical Guide to Planning for the Future and participant in the design of over 300 emergency departments.

The overall theme of the conference is “Building Innovative and Productive Partnerships in Asset Management” – something Liz and the Trebbi Healthcare team specialise in! Originally trained as a nurse in the acute sector, Liz utilises her deep understanding of nursing and healthcare operations to assist clients in making evidence-based decisions when developing and improving patient care operations and environments. Speaking at 10:45am on the Wednesday, Liz will be specifically looking at:

“A&E Design: The Transition from Triage to Care Initiation to Maximise Capacity and Reduce Length of Stay”

With the rising pressures on A&E departments consistently hitting the headlines as waiting times rise and budgets are squeezed, healthcare leaders around the world are searching for operational concepts and ideas to maximise capacity and productivity of A&E departments. Huddy and Liz’s presentation will address innovative concepts in developing “next generation” patient reception areas that go well beyond traditional triage to mix innovative operational concepts with creative facility changes. Maximising space and staff utilisation can reduce length of stay times for patients; Changes in mindset are doubling and tripling the capacity of various care spaces by rethinking operational flow and deployment of staff whilst maintaining the comfort, safety and confidentiality of patients served.

If you would like to find out more about how Liz and the Trebbi Healthcare team could revolutionise your facilities and operational concepts, please do say hello to Liz at Healthcare Estates or contact her on
