As part of our continuing fundraising efforts for the 2016 Master Cutler’s Challenge, Monaghans' Sheffield office were out last weekend at the Whiston Festival of Brass selling home-made scones, honey and the best strawberries and cream outside of Wimbledon.
The Whiston Festival of Brass (aka ‘Brasstonbury’) is an annual festival held in the Yorkshire Village of Whiston near Rotherham. The festival hosts a multitude of family attractions including children’s rides and fun fair, raffles and competitions, food and drink stalls, craft and village style stores as well the famous brass band march and competition.
Monaghans team members Laura O’Brien and Emma Wills organised and managed the stall. The day was an absolute success and with some innovative sales techniques they successfully sold out of all stock and raised £185.83 for the Master Cutler’s chosen charities, the St Luke’s and Rotherham hospices.
We would like to say a big thank you to the cooperative group for contributing 54 punnets of strawberries to our stall.
Laura O’Brien, trainee quantity surveyor said
“I’ve been attending the Whiston Festival of Brass for years and I felt the Master Cutler’s challenge provided the perfect opportunity to get involved with the event, have some fun and raise both money and awareness for a great cause in the process. We can’t wait to come back next year”.
After recent fundraising events, Monaghans’ running total for the 2016 Master Cutler’s challenge now stands at £4,289.24.
