The new John Lewis at home store in Ashford is now open!
The two storey, 40,000 sq ft, shop in Kent is John Lewis’ tenth 'at home' store since the popular new format was introduced in 2009. Customers in Ashford can browse a wide range of furniture, furnishing accessories, electrical and home technology supplemented by in store computer terminals for browsing the wider johnlewis.com catalogue and the free John Lewis Click and Collect service. There is also a customer café, and additional services include the John Lewis Gift List and Home Design Services. Monaghans’ project managers are proud to have worked with John Lewis on another successful scheme and in the words of Maggie Porteous, director of selling, north and new format at John Lewis:
‘It is testament to the team to have completed the construction and fit out so efficiently and it's fantastic to be able to open the doors in time for Christmas.'
The ‘at home’ format is just one of a number of exciting new formats for John Lewis. Last year Monaghans delivered John Lewis’ first full line flexible format department store in Exeter. By embracing new architectural, shopfit and catering concepts and maximising the opportunity for multichannel shopping, John Lewis Exeter offers the full John Lewis assortment in a smaller than usual footprint. This new format will allow John Lewis to reach customers in areas where a traditional department store would not be feasible and has already proved a big success in Exeter as the store recently won the award for ‘Best Large Format Store of the Year’ (and was highly commended in the ‘Best Department Store of the Year’ category) at the Retail Week Interiors Awards 2013.
